An Australian electrician claims he has invented a new form of commuting to and from work thats as easy as riding a bike. (if only everything was so easy)

Michael Jenkins, an electrician-turned-inventor, claims his invention, Chariot-Skates could be the future of the daily commute that millions of us under-go almost everyday.
The dedsign consists of a big carbonfibre wheel along with a small one just behind it and straps on to the users feet and shins to give them maximum support whilst hitting invigorating speeds of upto 25mph.
Breaking however, is somewhat "different" and not for the faint hearted as you must grasp the wheels with your hands! Dont worry gloves are provided!
Chariot Skates can be rode over grass or gravel with little effort, unlike its roller skate couter part making them very versitile. Similar to a bicycle but 1/10 the size. (similar terrain accessibility)

I would personally give it a go, but the retail price of £1000 sound a little too steep, even for me, therefore i may have to give this one a miss. Chariot skates will hit the british market in August.
