A Jack Russell Terrier who chews off his master’s toe, while he was asleep is marked as a hero.

The dog’s owner Jerry Douthett had been having undiagnosed type 2 diabetes, and with this condition he has also been having an infection on his toe which he refused to give any medical attention. However one night he had been drunk and went to sleep, only to wake up to find that he is lying on a pool of blood and that his toe is gone. He was then rushed to the hospital where he learned that he has diabetes and the toe anyway should be removed as it is infected.

The owner is very grateful for his dog for saving his life, even though he could have eaten him alive. However Jeremy has sworn not to drink like that, one should really thank the dog for that!
