A New Jamaican Passport?

A new CARICOM (Caribbean 1) passport for Jamaica has come into effect as
of January 2, this year.

The Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) which announced the new Passports said all applicants for Jamaican passports will now be issued with the new CARICOM Passport.

The CARICOM passport is now the standard issue for the Jamaican passport and is in essence, a CARICOM Jamaican passport.

This change does not affect existing Jamaican The security features of the passports as all previously is Jamaican passports will remain same as the previous Jamaican valid until expiry. Passport. However there arechanges in the following three areas:

1) The CARICOM insignia will be placed on the top middle section of the passport cover with the words “Caribbean Community” below the insignia

2) CARICOM Logo on pages

The CARICOM insignia will be placed on the bottom of the observation and visa pages.

3) Colour : Dark Blue

what on earth do you mean by that 3rd paragraph? Was it not read before you posted it on the internet?
As for the passport......Part of me think its nice as I believe the whole integration of the region is good but another part of me is worried that eventually Jamaica migh end up losing our unigueness in very much the same way that the uk worries about the full integration into the European Union. Well all this tells us that the new world order that people before us predicted is very much taking shape.
In europe we are forming the United States of Europe, Mexico, Canada and the USA talking of more integration......and the Caricom.........would be interesting to see this development after 50 years.......hope am around to see it.......dam thinking of that made me realise how much changes my grand mother must have seen in her time as she died at 100 years.

whats the proper procedures for renewing an expired jamaican passport?
In other words what does an individual needs to get their passport renewed?
How does one renew an expired passport who is living in another caricom country,
does that person needs to back to Jamaica to deal with it by him or herself, or a relative in Jamaica could do that?
