Black models will adorn over 100 pages of the July issue of Vogue - from the cover to the back.

The July issue, which is due out shorly, will feature a wide range of women of all ages and will include actors, models and singers such as Naomi Campbell, Alec Wec, Iman, Jody Watley and Tina Turner.

The pictures will be accompanied by articles on successful black women in arts and entertainment.

The magazine industry is infamously known for not featuring black models on their covers as it is claimed that black models do not sell magazines.

The lack of ethnic models in magazines and on catwalks has long sparked international criticism.

At London Fashion Week earlier this year, very few black models were included in the show demonstrating that racism is prevalent in the modelling industry.

British designer Vivienne Westwood went so far as to demand a quota system so that fashion magazines would be forced to use more black models.
