Girl fatally shot in Hoxton Take away

Teenage Girl killed in yet another teen shooting.

Yet another young Londoner has died in the capital in a senseless killing, as Britains gun culture continues to grow.

Agnes Sina-Inakoju, 16, had been standing in Hoxton Chicken and Pizza shop around 7.15pm when she was fatally wounded in the neck by a bullet that was shot through the shop window. Police believe she was not the intended target and that she may be a victim of mistaken identity or being in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

John Crossley, Detective Chief Inspector who is leading the investigation into Agnes’ death said;

“At this early stage, we believe two males approached the premises on mountain bikes. One fired a shot through the window, hitting the victim, who was inside the premises with friends.”

For locals, the shooting comes as little surprise as the area has had an increased in complaints of violence.

Joe Cooke, owner of local pie shop F Cooke, said: “My son has been telling me that the gang confrontation at the moment has really, really stepped up over the last two or three months. It has got really, really intense.”

A local shopkeeper said: “I only heard one shot and I went out afterwards and the girl was on the floor. Luckily there was a GP passing by and he went in”. Sadly, Agnes died on Friday morning.

The suspects were described as being between the ages of 14- 18, the majority of whom were black. They were last seen fleeing down Falkirk Street towards Kingsland Road however A Metropolitan Police spokesman has confirmed that two men, aged 21 and 16, have been arrested in connection with the murder.
