Community Drive to Save Forests in Uganda

Communitties surrounding the natural forests are to be beneficiaries of bee keeping projects, gas cookers and conservation rewards in abid to turn them away from tampering with nature for non renewable resources.

As energy resources become scarce and relatively expensive in sub saharan africa, the National Forest Authority(NFA) of the Ugandan governement has embarked on a community drive campaign , using the locals neighbouring the forests to help in their conservation. Alot of forests have been depleted by the ignorant populations in quest for fire wood and timber for alivelihood.

With new income generating activities like bee keeping and gas cookers donated , the NFA hopes to save a big portion of the natural forests , currently under threat from humanity.

Tourism , will also be boosted with this new conseravtion strategy.
