Should restaurants that serve out of season fruit and vegetables be fined for not sourcing their own home-grown ingredients?

There's so much in the news about our carbon footprint, us depleting the earth & ruining it for future generations! Maybe we can help more?

Funny that! I am of African descent and back home we NEVER eat of of season. If a particular fruit or vegetable is not in harvest, then it's just not eaten.

Here in the UK i doubt if most people really know what a naturally ripe strawberry tastes like as its a summer fruit but available all year round in the supermarkets. Eating produce within season is wholistically healthier and better for for us.

I think it will be hard to legally enforce this as we live in a culture of 'we want, we get'.
