6 men have volunteered to be locked-up for 18 months for a mock-up trip to Mars.

Will you ever agree to be locked up in a closed container for 18 whole months, without any physical contact with other people? Well I would not for definite. But an Italian, a Frenchman, three Russians and a Chinese had agreed to do so.

This experiment was done as a mock-up trip to Mars, which is actually to be taken place in few years time. And the trip is schedule to be 520 days, therefore the scientists are trying to find out from this experiments how the astronauts in the real mission would react in those 520 days in the space.
However the volunteers are able to communicate with the outside world via internet, thank god for that. But if you think this through this will be a piece of cake for the present generation, as for the most of us being able to browse the internet 24/7, 365 is more than enough.
