American Idol Hosts Idol Gives Back.  www.americanidol.com

Last night in the states American Idol held its 2nd Annual 'Idol Gives back' show.  On Wednesday April 9th, starting at 7:30/6:30c, FOX, AMERICAN IDOL and the Idol Gives Back Foundation presented a second installment of the popular TV event to help children and young people in extreme poverty at home in the U.S. and around the world.  Among the stars on stage were David and Victoria Beckham, Mariah Carey, Gordon Brown Pm who donated £100M worth of Malaria nets to Africa and Kylie Minogue and Brad Pitt even made an appearance! 

This year’s event was bigger and more ambitious than ever, and will feature international talent including Bono (myspace.com/u2), Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus (myspace.com/mileycyrus), Mariah Carey (myspace.com/mariahcarey), Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Fergie (myspace.com/fergie), Chris Daughtry (myspace.com/daughtry), Carrie Underwood (myspace.com/carrieunderwood), Annie Lennox (myspace.com/annielennox), John Legend (myspace.com/johnlegend), Snoop Dogg (myspace.com/snoopdogg), Maroon 5 (myspace.com/maroon5), Heart, Gloria Estefan (myspace.com/gloriaestefan), Robin Williams, Celine Dion (myspace.com/celinedion), Forest Whitaker, Billy Crystal, Dane Cook (myspace.com/danecook) , Kiefer Sutherland, Vanessa Hudgens (myspace.com/vanessahudgens), Ashley Tisdale (myspace.com/ashleytisdale), Jennifer Connolly, Elliott Yamin, Fantasia (myspace.com/fantasiabarrino) and Amy Adams.

The voting for the actual American Idol contest didn't take place because of the Idol special show so result should be on next weeks Tuesday night show.
