Kendall Adams visited St James Palace to be presented with her Gold Duke of Edinburgh's award by HRH Prince Edward, the Duke of Wessex. Kendall was one of the first pupils to join the Ravenscroft School's DoE group in 2004. She is the only one of the thirty pupils who started the Bronze award that year to have gone on to complete her Gold award.

"It was incredibly hard, but I'm really proud I did it. There were times on the last expedition in Wales when I really didn't think I could go any further, but I caried on anyway," said Kendall.

Since leaving The Ravenscroft School, Kendall has succeeded in securing a place to study Veterinary Science, a very competitive course.

"I didn't think I had the grades to get on. A friend of mine got turned down with four Bs. When I went for my interview, all they wanted to talk about was the gold Duke of Edinburgh's award. I'm sure that's what got me the place."

Kendall is one of more than two hundred children who have completed an Award at some level at The Ravenscroft School. We are immensely proud of her and of all the other pupils who have risen to the challenges of the Award and enriched their lives as a result.
