Tesco CEO Sir Terry Leahy is going step down in March 2011

Tesco’s CEO, Sir Terry Leahy is going to retire in March 2011 after serving 14 years as the Chief Executive for Tesco. There is no doubt that he is the primary reason for the Tesco to be the number retail store in UK.

In early 1990’s Tesco was behind Sainsbury’s and Asda but with his idea to introduce the club card the profits went up swarming. From that day onwards, Tesco seemed to have very successful years. However as soon as the retirement was announced shares went down by nearly 2%.

I wonder whether the success Tesco enjoys at the moment will last after Sir Terry is gone
