BA Crews to strike as talks fail

A three-day strike by British Airways cabin crew is set for this Saturday after talks with management failed, the Unite union says.

The strike is likely to mess up the travel plans of thousands, will cause further distress for the government just weeks before a general election...the Unite union is the Labour Party's biggest single financial backer.

Railway signal workers added to the government's problems by voting to strike as well due to proposed job cuts and changes to working practices.

The threat of a first national rail strike in 16 years now looms.
